Charlie Darnell HSE Memorial Scholarship
This award is for U.S. and international students who are pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or a closely related field. Focus will be given to students attending Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas. The applicant must Register for full time and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Burl Cockrell Memorial Scholarship
each year, the Committee on Professional Education for the Texas Environmental Health Association (TEHA) provides up to two scholarships for $1,500 apiece to current members or immediate family members who have chosen to pursue a major in environmental and/or public health at an accredited Texas university. Clara Freshour Nelson Music Scholarship
This is sponsored by the Texas Association of Music Schools (TAMS), the Clara Freshour Nelson Music Scholarship is awarded for $6,000 each year to student members who are currently pursuing a music major at an accredited four-year public or private Texas institution in good academic standing. Candidates should be in the second semester of their freshman year, have completed at least 12 semester hours, exhibit quality musical performance, have financial need, and possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better.
Barbara Odom-Wesley Spirit of Achievement Scholarship
The Barbara Odom-Wesley Scholarship is awarded to a female African American student who attends school in Tarrant County. She must be a graduating senior, have a minimum GPA of 2.5, and submit a transcript, SAT or ACT score, three letters of recommendation, and a 1,000-word essay. The scholarship is worth $3,000.
Unigo Education Matters $5K Scholarship 2018
The Education Matters Scholarship is open to any candiddate who is 13 years of age or older and is a legal resident of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. Each applicant must complete a scholarship match quiz/questionnaire and search for scholarships at UNIGO. The scholarship committee will select the winner based on the creativity and originality of the submitted written response to the scholarship question each year.

George and Mary Josephine Hamman Foundation Scholarships
The George and Mary Josephine Hamman Foundation Scholarships are awarded to 70 graduating high school seniors in the Houston area who plan to attend any college or university in the U.S. The award is $4,500 per year for four years. The scholarships are awarded based both on academics and financial need. Finalists for the awards will be invited for an interview with the foundation.
